Meet Haley
Haley has been a part of the Springbuk team since 2019 when she came on board to support close to 90 Salesforce users across the company’s marketing, sales and client success departments.
We talked to Haley about her intriguing career trajectory (from graphic designer to Salesforce admin), her love of hidden treasures and her passion for using technology—like Docusign Gen—to streamline critical business processes and lighten the load for her busy colleagues.
How did you get your start as a Salesforce admin?
My degree is in graphic design—and out of college, I worked for a manufacturing company as its graphic design person who could do marketing work. A lot of my job involved operational tasks like email automation, lead-handling processes and getting the CRM (which was Salesforce) up and running. I found that I really enjoyed that side of the work I was doing. That’s when I decided to make a career change and become a full-time Salesforce admin.
What do you love most about your role?
What I love most is getting to be a kind of “hub” of the company. Being the only Salesforce admin, I’m the process-improvement person for most of the departments.
Speaking of improving processes: What led you down the path to Docusign Gen?
We deal with healthcare data—so, as you can imagine, there are lots of contracts involved in our business. For a while, we were using the templates that come with Docusign eSignature to create master service agreements and service orders. But as our offerings evolved, we needed a more dynamic solution. We had about 10 different templates—and our reps had to select the right one and manually customize it for each customer, which was a big time suck. With Docusign Gen, we were able to completely automate that process for them in Salesforce. And it was an easy solution for us to add on top of the e-signature tool everyone was already familiar with.
How long was the implementation?
I was able to get it up and running in about two weeks.
How much time are salespeople saving?
About 5 minutes per contract (for the initial review and assembly of the paperwork). The contracts are also far more accurate and professional-looking with Docusign Gen.
Do you have any advice for other Salesforce users who might be considering a solution like Docusign Gen?
It’s easy to get stuck in the day-to-day current state, so I think understanding what the current state is costing you (in terms of hours, etc.) versus what you might be able to get back by implementing a more streamlined solution is really important.
What kind of feedback have you gotten from your colleagues?
When we first rolled out Docusign Gen, and sales reps saw it literally only took two clicks to generate the right template, they said “Thank God,” which is always nice feedback to get...that you’re making their lives easier.
What’s next for Springbuk? How does Docusign fit into your vision for the future?
At this point, we’re focused on making our teams as efficient as possible so they can spend more time building relationships versus repetitive data entry and manual tasks.
We’re in that scale-up stage. As we grow, as we add more customers and have more demands of our time, that’s when we’ll really need to lean on Docusign.
What are some things you like to do when you’re not busy making peoples’ lives easier?
I do a lot of sketching and painting. But I also really love the outdoors, so I use geocaching as my motivation to get me outside more—looking for hidden things in hiking spots and other public places.
